Two children died and one other has been injured, as pile of soil collapsed over them while they were playing in a field in Kushtia.
The incident took place at the Baruipara union’s Khalpara area on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased were Akash, 12, son of Mantu Mandal and Tarikul, 12, son of Late Hashem of the area.
Likhon, 10, was severely injured in the accident. He is the son of Nasir of the same area.
Mirpur police station OC Abdul Kalam confirmed the news.
He said: “The children died while playing under a pile of soil owned by Aynal Mandal. The field, where the accident took place, is also owner by Aynal.
“Two of them were declared dead after they were taken to a hospital.”
“Police has already visited the scene of the accident,” the OC said.
