Chittagong police have carried out an operation at Jamiyatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa, popularly known as Lalkhan Bazar Madrasa, in Chittagong.
The operation began around 4pm Saturday.
According to Deputy Commissioner (north) Abdul Warish of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, the operation was part of a routine inspection kicked up in the wave of the recent terrorist action.
DC Warish said that the inspection would extend throughout the Khulshi area in the port city.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (north) Kazi Muttaki Ibnul Minan said that the operation lasted for a few hours to raise awareness.

He said no one was detained during the operation, and it was solely to remind people to veer away from militancy and other untoward elements.
The operation was carried out in the form of a block raid, similar to the nightly raid in Panthapath last week.
In 2013, the Lalkhan Bazar Madrasa in question suffered a violent explosion which killed three madrasa students.
The 600-student-strong qawmi madrasa is notable for its previously established ties to the terrorist network of Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh (HujiB).
The principal, Mufti Izharul Islam Chowdhury, is also reputed to have had close ties with former al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.
A senior leader of Hefazat-e-Islam, Izhar was among the top leaders of HujiB when the group was floated through a press conference on April 30, 1992.
