3 injured in AL factional clash

At least 3 people, including a journalist, was injured in a clash between two factions of the Awami League in the Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

Police sources said an extended Awami League meeting was held in the Sadar upazila Awami League office to finalize candidates for the upazila elections.

During the meeting, the clash took place between the supporters of local Awami League leader Hakim and the Sadar upazila unit Awami League President Hafiz Uddin over the issue, leaving three injured.

Local Awami Leader Musa, Jubo League man Lalchan and the Daily Amader Orthoneeti local Correspondent Asadullah got injured during the incident.

On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Chapainawabganj Model police station Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman.
