2 children critically injured in Rangpur by locally made bomb blast

Two children have been critically injured in a cocktail blast that took place at around 4:15pm on Wednesday at the playing field of Rangpur Zilla School.

The school students and local police rescued them and brought them to the Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Currently, they have been admitted to the hospital.

Police are suspecting that the locally made bomb was placed to create sabotage as the school was used as the voting centre during the 11th general election on December 30.

Kotwali Thana OC Rezaul Haque said that the two cocktails were extremely powerful.

The injured children informed that they did not realize that the object was a locally made bomb as it was molded in tape.

When they started shuffling the object, a blast occurred with a strong sound, and parts of their hands and face were burnt.
