A case has been filed against 27 known and 8 unidentified persons in connection with the murder of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) member Basu Chakma in the Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati.
On Saturday night, alodger of the house Prabhat Kusum Chakma filed a case with Baghaichhari police station.
Police could not arrest anyone involvedin the incident.
Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, Basu Chakma’s body was handed over to his wife after the post mortem examination at the Khagrachari General Hospital.

Baghaichhari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Manzur said that a case has been filed against27 known and 8 unidentified persons over Basu’s murder.
“It is not possible to disclose the names of the defendants in the interest of privacy,” he said.
Basu was killed when a group of miscreants swooped in on him and opened fire, while he was having a meal, in the Babupara area around 7:30pm on Friday.
Publicity Secretary of PCJSS-MN Larma group Shudhakor Tripura blamed JSS-Santu Larma group and United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) for Basu's death.
