3 killed, 40 injured in Chittagong road accident

Three garment workers have been killed and 40 others injured in a road accident in the Korean Export Procession Zone (KEPZ) area in Chittagong.

Mohammad Latif, 50, Sultana Razia, 35, and MdIrfan, 27, were killed when a bus hit another busthatwas stationed in the areaaround 8:30am on Saturday, reports UNB. 

The additional deputy commissioner (port) of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police Md Arefin Jewel said: “The bus carrying workers of KEPZ hit another bus when its driver lost his control over the steering. 

“Latif died on the spotin the accident, while the other 42 workers were injured,” he said.

He said the doctor declared the other two dead when taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. 

Following the statement, a group of angry workers torched three buses of KEPZ.
