Ansar man killed in shootout with drug peddlers

An Ansar member has been killed and 10 others, including an executive magistrate, have been injured in a shootout with drug peddlers in Fulgazi upazila of Feni. The deceased is Naosher Ali. He was a Lance Nayek of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP). Feni Additional Police Superintendent Kazi Moniruzzan told the Dhaka Tribune: “The incident took place when a team of Ansar and police led by Executive Magistrate Sohel Rana conducted an anti-narcotics drive in the area around 11pm on Wednesday.” Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Sarwar said: “Naosher entered Indian territory to save himself during the drive. His body is still there. “We had a talk with Indian Border Security Force last night. The body will be brought back by this afternoon.”
