A woman, who was severely burnt in a gas pipeline explosion at their home in Ashulia’s Jamgora Molla Bazar area on Friday, has succumbed to her injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The deceased has been identified as Hasina Begum, 40, wife of Arab Ali, who used to work at a local readymade garment factory.
DMCH police outpost’s Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia said Hasina had suffered 96% burns on her body and died in the early hours of Saturday.

Ashuila police station Officer-in-Charge Jabed Masud also confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
On Friday morning, Hasina and four other members of her family had received severe burn injuries in the leaked gas pipeline’s explosion and subsequent fire.
The fire spread around the whole house rapidly and burned the other family members.
The other injured were Arab, 50, Arab's son Abdur Rauf, 25, his wife Ripa, 20, and their two year old daughter Ayesha.
Relatives said that the fire started when Hasina lit the stove in her kitchen to cook breakfast.
Later, they were rescued and taken to the BMCH burn unit.
