Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized 15,000 litres of local liquor in a Natore raid, with a mobile court handing out jail terms to 20 people involved with the incident.
The raid took place in Gurudaspur upazila on Saturday night.
According to Natore RAB, acting company commander Assistant Superintendent of Police Azmal Hossain confirmed the matter, adding that Gurudaspur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Monir Hossain led the mobile court during the drive.
“We conducted a drive in various known drug dens on Saturday night, detaining 20 people and seizing 15,000 litres of local liquor,” said Azmal.
“The mobile court then sentenced those people to prison sentences ranging between seven days and six months,” the RAB official added.
