Kushtia District transport workers have enforced an indefinite transport strike for the local and long route vehicles protesting Road Transport Act 2018.
The strike began at 8:00 am on Saturday on the Kushtia-Pragpur and Kushtia-Mohishkunda road.
Communications with the other parts of the country along with the two roads stopped since morning.
District Minibus Owners and Bus-Minibus Owners Association’s President Makbul Hossin said the workers called the strike to protest the act.
He added they are not involved with the program.
Kushtia Transport Workers Union Organising Secretary Sarwar Hossain said the workers have decided to continue their program until their demand is fulfilled.
