The government has taken necessary steps to prevent river erosion in Faridpur’s Charbhadrasan Upazila, Deputy Commissioner Umme Salma has said.
“The Water Development Board will start placing geo-bags to prevent erosion on the banks of Padma, Madhumati and Arial Khan rivers from Friday,” she said on Thursday, reports UNB.
"The erosion will be prevented at any cost," she said while visiting the affected areas, including Baliadangi, Fazle Kha Dangi and MP Dangi in the upazila.
River erosion has taken a serious turn in the district due to the rise of river water in the rainy season.
