Three people, including two minors, have gone missing upon the sinking of a trawler. The trawler was hit by a sand-laden cargo ship on the Jamuna River—in Manikganj district.
Officer-in-Charge of Shivalaya police station, Habibullah Sarker, told the Dhaka Tribune: “The Aricha-ghat-bound trawler capsized with 100 passengers around 11am on Tuesday.
“Most passengers managed to swim ashore, except for the three.”
Teota Union Chairman Abdul Kader said Noor Bakht, 50, and two children, are still missing.
A team of divers from Manikganj Fire Service are trying to trace the missing people with the help of the locals.
