Bonpara Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) GM Shamsun Noor has been re-assigned in the wake of the recent road accident in Lalpur upazila that left 15 dead.
The OC received the withdrawal notice around 11:00 a.m. Monday.
Bogra Zone office Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mozammel Hossain and GM Shamsun Noor both confirmed the matter.
Mozammel said: “Shamsun Noor has been withdrawn because the officers involved in the rescue effort of the accident are not allowed to be the investigating officer in the case filed in that regard. He has been reassigned to the Bogra office of highway police.”
GM Shamsun Noor said he believes the authorities did what they thought was best, adding that he is preparing to move to Bogra.
