Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a local Awami League leader in Mymensingh’s Trishal upazila.
Locals spotted the body of Abdul Matin Master, a freedom fighter and also the president of Mathbaria union unit Awami League, in his pond at Khagati village on Wednesday morning.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the local hospital morgue, Jakiur Hossain, officer-in-charge of Trishal police station, said.
The motive behind the killing could not be known immediately, the OC added.
