Retired Comilla teacher found dead, denounces slander in a note

The body of the former principal of Comilla Government Mohila College, Prof Abdul Wahab, 60, was found hanging in the bathroom of his house on Monday, a probable case of suicide.

He left two hand written notes, where he mentioned that his wife and daughter are not responsible for his death.

But the police are having doubts about the professor’s death.

Wahab lived in a rented flat with his wife and daughter beside Mother Care Hospital on the Mohila College Road.

In the written notes, he had said that no one was responsible for his death except his own fate.

The note also read: “While I was principal, I had some disputes with one or two people. I was even blamed of having physical relations with my students which is completely absurd.”

Wahab’s wife and daughter said he was depressed about his pensions, property and family for a long time. But they had no clue why he would have committed suicide.

Kotwali model police station OC Abu Salam Miah said: “Upon receiving the news, police recovered the body. The written notes are being investigated at the moment.”

A case of unnatural death was later filed at the station by police.
