Three people have been killed and at least five others injured in lightning strikes in Kurigram and Rangpur.
All incidents occurred on Thursday.
In Kurigram, a housewife was killed at Char Satalaskar village in Ulipur upazila’s Bajra Union in the morning.
Saleha Begum, 50, died on the spot after being struck by a lightning bolt when she was tending to cattle near her home, said Ulipur police OC Mostafizur Rahman.
In Rangpur, two people died and five others injured after being struck by lightning in Badarganj upazila.
Badarganj police OC Anisur Rahman said the deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 50, and Ayesha Begum, 45.
The injured were admitted to Badarganj Health Complex.
