Three schoolboys were killed after being struck by lightning at Sonapatti village in Chapainawabganj’s Charbagdanga upazila on Tuesday.
The shocking incidents took place during a thunderstorm around 6:45pm, locals and police said.
The deceased were identified as Gaus Ali, 5, son of Taimur Rahman; Faisal Ali, 15, son of Nurul Islam; and Emon, 14, son Ishaq Ali. All three were from Sonapatti village.
Sadar Model police station OC Manjurur Rahman said a thunderbolt bore down on the trio while they were collecting mangoes at an orchard near their houses in the evening.
All three were killed on the spot, he said.
