51 fall sick after eating lunch at a Barisal madrasa

“The students fell sick after eating lunch on Tuesday noon and were sent to the hospital as their condition were not improving,” said Md Jasimuddin, an English teacher of the madrasa. Dr Md Delwar Hossain, resident medical officer (RMO) of Barisal General Hospital, said: “The patients have symptoms of dehydration, loose motion and vomiting.” The patients are gradually recovering and would be released soon, the RMO added. Gazi Md Saifuzzaman, deputy commissioner of Barisal, said: “After visiting the hospital on Tuesday night, I ordered a 5-member committee led by additional deputy magistrate Md Monir Hossain to submitted report on the matter within the next seven working days.”
