Youths vandalise Ctg restaurant after denied 'BCL' discount

Mazbah Uddin, manager of Sadia’s Kitchen, a restaurant located at Chawkbazar in the city, said: “A group of seven to eight youths came to the restaurant and asked for 30% discount claiming themselves as Chhatra League members after the bill was placed in front of them. Later they vandalised the restaurant for not providing them their expected discount.” Police and onlookers at the scene after vandals had left Dhaka TribuneMir Md Nurul Huda, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station in Chittagong, confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune that some students of Chittagong College became involved in a quarrel with the restaurant’s authority. Later, the students vandalised the restaurant. The manager of the restaurant said that the restaurant authority will not file a case in this regard Dhaka TribuneNurul Azim Rony, general secretary of Chittagong Chhatra League, said: “The restaurant staff hit the students with bricks and injured them first. Later students attacked the restaurant. We will file a case against the restaurant authority for hitting the students.” The manager of the restaurant said that the restaurant authority will not file a case in this regard.
