Police official killed in Jessore road crash

The deceased is Jakir Hossen, 35, son of Intaj Ali Sardar of Joypur village of Monirumpur Upazila. The ASI was attached with Ranishakail police station of Thakurgaon. He joined the service in 2004. Family sources told the Dhaka Tribune that the incident took place Friday morning when a brick laden truck slammed into Jakir’s motorcycle. He died while being whisked off to the nearest hospital, Mahmudul Hasan, doctor at Monirumpur Upazila Health Complex, confirmed. Monirumpur police station SI Tapash said: “Jakir’s body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.”
