'RpCC polls were free and fair'

Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Sujan) has observed that the recently held Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) polls were free and fair. In its official statement on the RpCC polls, Sujan also called the RpCC polls a “model election” and thanked the returning officer, the Election Commission, the government and the members of the law enforcement agencies for their efforts in ensuring smooth voting. The statement was read out by Sujan's Rangpur Division Coordinator Rajesh Dey at a press conference at Sahitya Parishad Auditorium in Rangpur city on Saturday.

The NGO also placed a five-point recommendation for the newly elected representatives of the RpCC, expecting they would work to make the corporation a corruption-free, effective, and friendly organization. The group also hoped the representatives would keep away from partisanism and nepotism, and come face to face with the people at least once in a year.
