Ferry services resume on Paturia-Daulatdia route after 7hrs

Ferry services on the key Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed after seven hours of disruption caused by dense fog. Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha Nasir Mohammad Chowdhury said the ferry services were disrupted from 10:30pm on Sunday to 5:30am on Monday due to poor visibility caused by thick fog. Ten ferries were stuck at Paturia and Daulatdia terminals while more than 500 vehicles were waiting for crossing the Padma River, he added. Besides, six ferries were stuck in the middle of the river. Ferry services resumed around 5:30 am as the fog lifted.
