Fire at Tongi packaging factory

A fire had broken out at a packaging factory in BSCIC industrial area in Tongi, Gazipur. The fire broke out at the packaging section of the factory early Wednesday and soon engulfed the entire place. Akikul Islam, senior station officer of Tongi fire station, said: “The fire originated from an electric short circuit around 12:30am. “Three firefighting units went to the spot and doused the blaze after a frantic effort of four hours.” Akikul also said the estimated damage from the fire could not be ascertained yet.
