Bamboo removed from rail tracks in Moulvibazar

“We have taken steps to replace the old sleepers,” Senior Deputy Assistant Engineer Ali Azam told the Dhaka Tribune on Saturday. The rail-bridge, located right next to the Manu rail station, is placed 300m above the Manu River and has 208 sleepers of which half the sleepers are damaged. Bamboos were nailed to the damaged sleepers throughout the length of the bridge. The authorities took the step to replace old sleepers following media reports and social media backlash.
