Teenage girl abducted, raped in Jamalpur

A 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted and raped by a businessman for three days, has been rescued in Jamalpur's Melandaha upazila. The victim's father had filed a case in this connection on Sunday, confirmed Melandaha police station Officer-in-Charge Mazharul Karim. According to the case statement, Mozammel Haque, 35, from Meghrabari village of the upazila abducted the girl in the afternoon on Wednesday. The girl was on her way to a private tutors' from her home at that time. Mozammel confined the girl in an unknown place and raped her for three days. As her condition deteriorated, the rapist left the girl near Durmuth railway station, further reads the statement. She was rescued in critical condition from the railway station area and whisked off to the upazila health complex. The rapist has been at large.
