MP Golam Mostafa Ahmed injured in road crash

Golam Mostafa Ahmed, MP of Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj), was injured in a road accident in Tangail’s Mirzapur upazila on Saturday.
The private car of the MP was flipped over near Natiapara area on the Bangabandhu Bridge when it was hit by a bus coming from the opposite direction around 5pm, leaving the lawmaker and three others injured, confirmed Tangail Superintendent of Police Mahbub Alam.
The lawmaker was returning to his jurisdiction of Sundarganj from Dhaka.
All the four injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital. Later, as the condition of MP Golam Mostafa deteriorated, he was sent to the National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospital in Dhaka, said Tangail-5 MP Sanowar Hossain.
An ambulance carrying the MP was on the way to Dhaka until the filing of this report around 10pm.
“The MP suffered a severe blow to the head which caused a hemorrhage. Besides, different parts of the body were injured,” said Dr Aklima Khatun of Tangail General Hospital. l
