Dainik Purbokone editor passes away

Taslim Uddin Chowdhury, editor of prominent Chittagong daily newspaper the Dainik Purbokone, died on Wednesday morning. He was 63. He breathed his last at a hospital in Dhaka around 6:45am, said Mohammad Ali, a senior journalist of the daily. Sources close to the deceased's family said Taslim, who was from Raozan upazila in Chittagong district and was also an architect, had long been suffering from various incurable diseases. He is survived by his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives. Meanwhile, the Chittagong Press Club, the Chittagong Journalists' Association and the Metropolitan Journalists' Union leaders expressed profound shock at the death of the Purbokone editor.
