3 killed, 18 injured in Noakhali road accident

At least 3 people were killed and 18 more injured in an accident on the Chowmuhani-Feni Road in Noakhali on Thursday. The mishap occurred near Sebarhat Paschim Bazar under Senbagh Upazila around 9:30am. Two of the 3 victims were identified as Jasim Uddin, 24, from Lakshmipur and Atikuzzaman, 26, from Mymensingh. The third victim is yet to be identified. The bodies have been sent to Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy. Quoting witnesses, Officer-in-Charge of Senbagh police station, Harun-Ur-Rashid said: “A Chittagong-bound bus named Ruposhi Bangla Paribahan collided head on with another Lakshmipur-bound bus named Jamuna Classic on Thursday morning. The collision left one passenger dead on the spot and 20 others got injured. On duty doctors declared another two passengers dead-on-arrival, after locals rushed the wounded to Senbagh Upazila Health Complex. At least five other critically injured victims were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital for better treatment.
