Murder case filed against Awami League MP in Mymensingh

Abul Kalam Azad, assistant professor of botany department of the college, and Safor Ali, a 65-year-old day labourer, were killed and over 100 others injured on November 27 when police swooped on a programme demanding nationalisation of the college in Fulbaria upazila. While Azad was part of the protest, Safor Ali was merely crossing the college area during the clash. SM Abul Hashem, assistant professor of political science department of Fulbaria Degree College, filed the case with the Court 2 of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mahbubul Huq on Wednesday around 11:30am. The others accused are Muslem's son Emdadul Hoque, college Principal Nasir Uddin Khan and Vice-Principal Amzad Hossain, Fulbaria OC Rifat Khan Rajib, and SIs Rafiqul Islam and Ratan. Hashem also demanded a judicial inquiry into the killings, said court sources. The court has not issued any order regarding the case yet.
