The Mro, Lusai, Khumi, Khyang and Pangkhua communities are not involved with any militant groups in the hilly areas of Bangladesh, delegates from the five communities have said.
Speaking at a press conference in Bandarban on Wednesday, the spokespersons said their people had no connection with Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) or any other militant groups.
Condemning the emergence of such militant groups in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, they said that militancy has no religion or cast. A vested quarter is trying to implicate the people of Mro, Lusai, Khumi, Khyang and Pangkhua in militant activities.
The speakers further said that their people did not give shelter to militants, and urged the law enforcers to strengthen their anti-militancy drive in the area.
