Police have filed a chargesheet against Gazipur City Corporation Mayor and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser MA Mannan in a case filed for vandalising vehicles.
Gazipur court police Inspector Md Rabiul Islam submitted the chargesheet to district Senior Judicial Magistrate Begum Farzana Khan on Thursday at noon. Later, May 12 was fixed for a hearing on the case.
A total of 43 BNP leaders and activists, including Gazipur unit president Fazlul Huq Milon, were also named in the chargesheet, said Rabiul.
A microbus carrying journalists and a leguna were vandalised in the Barabarhi area of the city during a hartal enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance on December 27 last year.
Later, journalist MA Farid filed a case with Joydevpur police station.
