Five brick kilns have been fined with Tk85,000 in Narsingdi for excessive use of agricultural land and not maintaining the proper size of the bricks.
Ataur Rahman, deputy director of Environment Department of Narsingdi, confirmed about the fining.
On Sunday afternoon, the drive of Environment Department was launched in different areas of the district, led by Md Salim Reza, executive director of Monitoring and Enforcement Wing of the department.
The team also recovered 40 kg of banned polythene bags from five stores at Narsingdi Bazar during the drive.
