A Dhaka Court has granted three-day remand to the son of former MP Khan Tipu Sultan for alleged involvement in the murder of his wife.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Anwar Sadat passed the order on Sunday after Sub Inspector Shafiqul Islam, also the investigation officer, sought a 10-day remand.
Humayun Sultan, son of the Jessore MP, was arrested on November 14 for alleged involvement in the murder of his wife, Dr Shamaruf Mahzabin Kona.
Kona had been found hanging, according to her in-laws, in a bathroom of her in-law’s Dhanmondi house on November 13.
Her father, Nurul Islam, filed a murder case against his Humayun and also implicated the former MP and his wife Jesmin Ara Begum.
