The members of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum of Magura district unit have staged a human chain at Magura district Judge court premises, protesting Judge impeachment bill on Wednesday afternoon.
They also held a discussion meeting at the same venue around 1:30pm.
Advocate Mokaddesh Hossen and advocate Rokonujjaman, among others, spoke in the meeting.
The speakers criticised the government's attempt to restore parliamentarian power to remove judges through the amendment.
They termed the amendment as a conspiracy against the rule of law.
They also feared that the amendment would destroy the independence of the Supreme Court judges.
