5 witnesses testify against Oishee and others in court

Five more prosecution witnesses gave depositions yesterday in the case filed over the killings of SB Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Rahman last year.

SI Shahidullah Prodhan and SI Abu Taher, ASI Tabibur Rahman and constables Mahbub Alam and Maleka Begom, who made the seizure list and prepared inquest report of the deceased, testified before the Dhaka’s Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Jahrul Haque.

They produced kitchen knife, gold ornaments, one luggage and blooded clothes before the court as exhibits. 

After recording their depositions, the court fixed September 11 for the next prosecution witnesses in the case.

With this, a total of nine witnesses, including complainant of the case, out of 49 have given depositions.

Police produced victims’ daughter Oishee and her two friends Asaduzzman Jony and Mizanur Rahman Rony before the court during the proceedings.

Plaintiff of the murder case Mashiur Rahman, also brother of deceased Mahfuz, in his deposition on July 8 claimed that Oishee had been innocent.

Bodies of the couple were recovered from their house in the capital on August 16 last year.
