The Supreme Court has continued its stay against a High Court order that granted bail to Saleh Rahman Sheemanto, a key accused of Tanvir Mohammad Twoki murder case.
The five-member Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Mozammel Hossain passed the order on Tuesday morning.
Earlier on July 1, Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division Justice, Hasan Foez Siddique stayed for two weeks the HC bail to Sheemanto, following a plea of the state.
On June 24, a High Court vacation bench of Justice, Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice, Farid Ahmed gave the ad-interim bail to the accused.
Sheemanto was arrested on April 18 for his alleged involvement in the killing of Twoki, a school student of Narayanganj, in March last year.
