Tarek Sayeed on fresh remand

A Narayanganj court yesterday again granted the police a five-day remand to former RAB official Lt Col Tarek Sayeed Mohammad, arrested in the sensational Narayanganj seven murder case.

The former commanding officer of RAB 11 was earlier given remand of 45 days in four phases.

Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Chandni Rupam passed the order after police had requested a seven-day remand on completion of a five-day remand. Tarek was produced before the court around 5pm amid tight security.

During the remand hearing, Investigation Officer of the case Mamunur Rashid Mandal, also the OC of Narayanganj CID, said Tarek had disclosed important information about the seven-murder case in the last remand and more time was needed to grill him.
