The students of Kurigram Government High School staged demonastrations and blocked Kurigram-Chilmari and Kurigram-Rangpur highways at Zero Point Shapla Chattar for one hour yesterday.
The classmates of Rayhan held the demonstration demanding the punishment of those who kidnapped and killed him.
Later, agitated students and the inhabitants of Hashpatalpara area submitted two memorandums to the deputy commissioner and police super demanding punishment of the culprits.
Police recovered the body of the 13-year-old boy from the Moghol Haat Char area in Lalmonirhat on Monday.
It was alleged that the kidnapping was conducted by Nazrul’s wife Jhorna, a tenant of the victim’s house, with the help of her son Sagar, an SSC candidate from Kurigram Collectorate School & Collage.
Police said Sagar called Rayhan outside the house to play on Saturday. On the next day, the kidnappers demanded ransom and the victim’s father Ershadul Haque provided the money but the abductors demanded more money. As the victim’s family failed to manage the extra money, the abductors killed Rayhan. Police detained Jhorna and Sagor.
