Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will provide financial assistance to the victims of Savar building collapse tomorrow.
She will hand over cheques to the victims at her office around 10:30am, said her Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad. It will be the eighth phase of aid distribution.
So far, Tk119.7m has been provided from the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to 1,016 people belonging to families of 777 victims of the April 24 tragedy. In addition, savings certificates worth Tk33m were given to 30 injured.
The premier has given Tk14.2m for the treatment of injured workers in 22 hospitals and Tk3.5m for sending rescue worker Kaikobad to Singapore for better treatment.
Hasina also gave Tk5m to National Forensic DNA Profiling Laboratory.
The families of the remaining victims will also be provided with financial assistance in phases.
