Workers of a foreign sweater factory in Chittagong Export Processing Zone locked up some of the high officials and allegedly assaulted two supervisors of the factory Saturday.
The agitated workers of Bangladesh Spinners and Knitters Limited (BSKL), a Hong Kong owned private company, also locked the main gate of the factory and staged demonstration from 9am to 12:30pm, said police sources.
Abul Mansur, officer-in-charge of EPZ police station, said thousands of workers locked their factory as the authorities did not agree to pay them the required commission.
