The Supreme Court on Monday imposed a stay on a bail order issued by the High Court (HC) for Yusuf Hossain Liton, a suspect in the much-talked-about killing of Tanvir Mohammad Twaki in Narayanganj.
The chamber judge of Appellate division AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury issued an eight-week stay order on the six-month ad-interim bail that the HC granted on June 24.
Earlier, Yusuf Hossain Liton confessed his involvement in the murder of Twaki.
Liton, 32, son of one Salauddin of Amlapara area was arrested on AC Dhar road in the town on April 16.
On the very next day, a trial court put Yusuf in remand for five days.
An A-Level student of ABC International School in Narayanganj town, Twaki, 17, son of social and cultural activist and Narayanganj Ganajagaran Mancha convener Rafiur Rabbi, went missing on March 6.
Police recovered his body two days later from a local canal.
Twaki's father filed a murder case with Narayanganj sadar model police station on the same day.
