The High Court rejected the petition of Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman for quashing a corruption case proceeding on Monday.
A High Court bench comprising of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justices Mostafa Zaman Islam vacated its stay order and rejected the petition.
On September 28, 2010, the High Court stayed the trial proceedings of a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission on June 13, 2010 for not submitting his wealth statement, reports banglanews.
ACC lawyer Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan said, “There is no legal bar now in resuming the trial proceedings against Mahmudur at trial court.”
