The first batch of 11 skilled female migrant workers flew to Hong Kong at 9:32pm on a Dragon Airlines flight on Friday.
Md Zahedul Islam, assistant director of Expatriates’ Welfare Desk at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
These female workers have been provided training for three months on Cantonese and English, Chinese food cooking, operating washing machines and ironing, says officials of Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training.
“We have learnt how to speak Cantonese and English and also learn Chinese cooking, operating washing machine and other household works,” one of the workers, Moushumi Aktar said while speaking to the Dhaka Tribune at Keranigonj Technical Training Centre on Friday morning.
A female worker will get a monthly wage of $505 with free accommodation and food.
