President Mohammad Abdul Hamid has appointed AM Amin Uddin, senior advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and current president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, as the new attorney general of Bangladesh.
Public Relations Officer of the Law Ministry, Dr Rezaul Karim, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
AM Amin Uddin succeeds Mahbubey Alam, the longest serving attorney general of Bangladesh, who passed away due to Covid-19 on September 27 .
The 71 year old died undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital.
Pro-Awami League White Panel candidate Amin Uddin was elected president to the Supreme Court Bar Association in 2019 and again in 2020.
Amin got his enrollment on October 28, 1989 and he got his membership in the Supreme Court Bar Association on February 2, 1990.
