Unicef: Strengthen child protection and implement Children Act 2013

The initiative would reinforce justice and establish a monitoring mechanism of services for children in conflict and in contact with the law.
A total of 16 Children Courts will also be formed under the initiative.
A database will be prepared on children in conflict cases and in contact with the law, while a digital recording system and other monitoring frameworks will be developed.
The pilot courts, three Kishore Unnayan Kendra (adolescent centres) and six safe homes will have video connectivity for teleconferences during trials.
Chief Justice SK Sinha was the chief guest, accompanied by SC justices Muhammad Imman Alia and Sheikh Hassan Arif, Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam and Unicef Bangladesh’s representative Edouard Beigbeder.
