Six charged with murder of 11-year-old boy

Police have pressed charges against six people in court over the killing of schoolboy Abdullah in Dhaka's Keraniganj.

Keraniganj model police station Sub-Inspector Md Shafiqul Islam, also the investigation officer, submitted the chargesheet at Dhaka’s Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, said Court Inspector Md Asaduzzaman.

The six are Md Khorshed Alam, Mehedi Hasan Shamim, Mithu Akhter, Kaikobad, Nasima Begum and Zahirul Islam. Nasima and Zahirul are on the run.

Abdullah's body was found inside a drum at Motahar Hossain's house on February 2, not far from where the boy lived. The victim's family said he had been missing since January 29 after going out to play with friends.

Motahar, the prime accused, was killed in an alleged gunfight with RAB in South Keraniganj on February 16.
