A Chittagong court has handed down death sentence to two brothers for killing a business man while six others were acquitted from the case.
The convicts Hesham Uddin and Mohammod Shahid are on the run.
The killing occurred at the courtyard of the victim in Chandanaish upazila on March 7, 2010.
Judge of Chittagong Divisional Seedy Trial Tribunal Muhitul Hoque Md Anam Chowdury passed the order on Tuesday in absentia of the duo as they went into hiding following the killing.
The court also acquitted six other persons of charges as they were not found guilty in killing, said Public Prosecutor Aiyub Khan.
The trial proceedings of the case begun on September 1, 2013, said the PP.
According to case statement, on March 7, 2010, a businessman named Mansur Ahmed khan was stabbed to death over a land dispute.
