A Dhaka court has again rejected bail plea of Kazi Shahadat Hossain, a suspended national cricketer, in a case filed for torturing his domestic help.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Kamrul Hossain Mullah passed the order on Thursday.
On October 25, the court fixed the date for hearing on the appeal plea filed by Shahadat’s lawyer Kazi Md Nazib Ullah Hero.
Shahadat was sent to jail after completion of his three-day remand after he was produced before the court with a seven-day remand plea.

Shahadat, who was on run since the injured 10-year-old domestic help was rescued, surrendered before a Dhaka court on October 5, a day after his wife was arrested.
The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Yusuf Hossain sent Shahadat to jail on the same day, rejecting his bail plea.
The court also set October 12 for submission of probe report.

On October 4, another court sent Shahadat’s wife Jesmin Jahan Nitto to jail after rejecting her bail petition in the case.
Police arrested Nitto at the Pabna Lane in the capital’s Malibagh area.

Khandaker Mojammel Hossain, a journalist, filed the case against the couple with Mirpur Model police station on September 7 after rescuing 10-year-old Happy, the domestic help.
Happy was rescued from the capital's Pallabi area a day before.
