Over 6,000 doctors to join health sector today

Over 6,000 doctors who passed the 33rd BCS exam are set to join the country’s health sector today.

Health Minister Mohammed Nasim will inaugurate the joining programme and address the newly appointed doctors at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

The Health Ministry has been conducting a registration process of the passed candidates. A total of 6,075 out of 6,151 passed candidates have already completed their registrations.

The registration process will continue till 10am today.

Basu Dev Ganguly, joint secretary (administration), told the Dhaka Tribune that such a large number of doctors had never been appointed before.

“We hope for a positive change in the root level of health services, following this recruitment,” he added.
