Nine people died from dengue across the country in the 24 hours up to 8am on Wednesday, October 28, while 1,982 new patients were admitted to hospitals during the same period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was disclosed in a statement issued by the DGHS on Wednesday.
The statement said that among the newly admitted patients between 8am on Tuesday and 8am on Wednesday, 816 were from Dhaka division, 84 from Mymensingh division, 313 from Chittagong division, 214 from Khulna division, 217 from Rajshahi division, 116 from Rangpur division, 194 from Barisal division and 28 from Sylhet division.
It also said that a total of 130,219 dengue patients had been admitted to hospitals across the country since the beginning of the year. Of them, 123,605 had been discharged from hospitals.
Currently, 6,205 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. The total number of deaths from dengue this year has reached 409.
